  • Sustain & It's getting hot y'all

Let’s be real – there’s a gap in environmental communications, and we, as active social media users, can help fill it. This campaign aims to establish two distinct, independently-led networks: Sustain – a broad network that engages general audiences; and It’s Getting Hot Y’all (IGHY) – a BIPOC-focused network with messaging tailored to BIPOC communities online. Both networks bring together influential voices capable of inspiring their audiences toward meaningful environmental action, from individual behavior changes to collective advocacy. This program was developed in partnership with the Mariposa Foundation.

My role? I led program management, built and engaged trusted messenger networks, managed social media strategy and content, crafted copy, and coordinated outreach for partnerships.

  • Network for Refugee Voices

Network for Refugee Voices (NRV) is a group of refugee and refugee-led organizations working to contribute to processes and commitments aimed at reforming the international refugee protection regime, including the UN Global Compact on Refugees and Compact for Migration.  The NRV recognizes that urgent action is needed at the international, national, and local levels to develop innovative and effective refugee policy to ensure a sustainable global response to the refugee crisis.

My role? I was the main point of contact for all refugee and refugee-led organizations involved in the initiative. I led all communications—internal and external—including briefings, press releases, content creation, social media management, and copywriting. Additionally, I organized events and coordinated delegation visits.

Highlight: In June 2018, we hosted the first-ever Global Summit of Refugees in Geneva, bringing together over 80 refugees from more than 40 countries. This landmark event marked a pivotal shift in how the international community, including the UNHCR, designs and implements policies affecting refugee livelihoods and well-being.

  • Save Our Syria

Save Our Syria (SOS) is a platform that empowers Syrian civil society and humanitarian groups to pursue Syrian-led solutions to the Syrian crisis.

My role? I managed the campaign’s X account, monitoring daily content related to the war in Syria and developed a content plan to spotlight attacks on civilians by the Assad regime. I also supported the project team with external communications and day-to-day project management.

Highlight: In January 2018, we launched a daily thread documenting attacks across Syria and calling on the international community to hold both the Russian and Syrian regimes accountable for their war crimes. Our efforts garnered attention from civil society actors, including the Syria Campaign and The White Helmets, as well as from the United Nations and various government officials.
